The cities of Livermore and Pleasanton will co-sponsor two application workshops on Thursday, December 7 and Wednesday, December 13 designed for non-profit and public organizations that serve Tri-Valley residents. The grant programs are:
City of Livermore Housing and Human Services Grants
City of Pleasanton Housing and Human Services Grants
City of Pleasanton Community Grants – Youth/Civic Arts
These grant programs provide funding for a wide variety of human services, community development, housing, youth, and civic arts projects and programs. Most of the grants are focused on activities that benefit lower income residents. In fiscal year 2017-18, the cities collectively dispersed over $1.4 million dollars to efforts such as medical and health care access for the uninsured, child abuse prevention services, meals and supportive services for seniors, mental health care, substance abuse counseling, domestic violence and homeless shelters, rental assistance for job training participants, fair housing counseling and tenant-landlord services, housing rehabilitation for low income homeowners, community cultural events, art projects and programs and many more.
The first workshop will be held on Thursday, December 7 from 10 am – noon at the Pleasanton City Council Chambers at 200 Old Bernal Avenue. The second workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13 from 2-4 pm in the Livermore City Council Chambers at 3575 Pacific Avenue. Attendance at one of the scheduled workshops is mandatory in order to apply for funding from the City of Livermore and/or the City of Pleasanton. City staff will discuss the application process and distribute application packets at the workshops. Both workshops are identical in format and content, so it is only necessary to attend one.
